MU Preparation Course

About our MUPC Pathway

Build the foundation for your academic success in tertiary study with the Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC). This foundation level course prepares students for entry into a wide range of undergraduate degree courses at Murdoch University. It  combines learning from Australian Years 11 and 12 and is recognised by Murdoch University for tertiary entrance purposes.

The required duration of the MUPC course will depend on a students academic entry level, experience and chosen destination degree.

The MUPC 6 program includes up to six compulsory units, which may be completed over two or three trimesters (15 weeks per trimester).  These six units are made up of three core subjects and three elective subjects.

Depending on entry level and prior learning, some students may qualify for MUPC 3 (1 core + 2 elective subjects) or MUPC 4 (2 core + 2 elective subjects) where students only need complete  3 or 4 units before moving on to their university program.

The MUPC is offered in the following four streams:

  • Business
  • Information & Communications Technology
  • Communications and Media Studies
  • Science

Required units within each of these streams will depend on a student’s selected destination degree, a specialist study stream can be selected, and certain electives are recommended for each stream.
