Our Students

At Murdoch Institute of Technology we want our students to achieve their goals.  We appreciate that every student is different and their needs and goals are as individual as them. We provide support every step of the way.

Where are they now?

Here are just some of the success stories.

Michael Zhang, China
When he arrived from China three years ago, Michael Zhang couldn’t speak or write English. After eight months of intensive language classes, he moved into a Certificate course, followed by a Diploma. While Michael found the Diploma level challenging, he had plenty of people to help him.Teaching staff gave him extra lessons on how to study, and he began passing his tests and exams. Michael’s long-term homestay family has also been very supportive. Michael is now in his second year of a Commerce degree, with a major in International Business.

Anaka Jones, Australia &
Christine Brady, Australia
Anaka – “I went to seven different schools in five states when I was growing up. It impacted on my TEE results and I didn’t get an university offer. For me, MUPC was like a second chance at everything. The biggest impact the MUPC had on me was confidence in my performance. I got my first Maths and Stats test back – and I scored 85%. I finished the course with High Distinctions in everything and I topped the class for Communications II. I was accepted into Commerce at Murdoch.”Christine – “I went to four different schools in five years of high school. My confidence slipped and I started failing subjects that I knew I could pass. I was crushed when I didn’t get into Murdoch University. One of the best things I’ve done was enrol in the MUPC. It was great being on the same campus as my friends, and I was very motivated to succeed and transfer across to Murdoch University. The Murdoch Institute of Technology teachers were incredibly helpful in guiding me to great results.”

Reece Demster, Australia &
Cameron Potts, Australia
Reece – “The MUPC gave me a fresh start when I needed it. At Murdoch Institute, every time I went to class I enjoyed it because we were always looking at new material. I covered a lot of Year 11 and 12 subject information in13 weeks!” Reece is now in his first year of Law. He has a heavy study load, requiring self motivation and independent research skills, but he’s convinced that he has an advantage over the students fresh from high school. “Thanks to my time at Murdoch Institute of Technology, I was thoroughly prepared.”Cameron – Cameron always intended to be a lawyer but lost focus in Year 12. Then he heard about the MUPC and realised he could enter university via a different pathway. For Cameron, one of the best aspects of Murdoch Institute of Technology are the small classes and excellent teachers. Each teacher played ca part in helping Cameron achieve his goal.
