Murdoch College

Murdoch Institute of Technology has structured a series of Diploma courses that maximise the degree options for which students can gain full credit and exemption. These options can be extended if a student elects to take an additional one or two units. The major advantage of this structure is that students are not locked into a particular degree at enrolment.

These are award courses under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which gain full credit and exemption for one year of a degree course at university, but are also recognised and respected in workplaces internationally. This means that if a student interrupts their tertiary studies (in unforeseen circumstances) they can enter the workforce and return to university at a later date (degree must be completed within 10 years) without losing credit.

In some circumstances, depending on the level of employment undertaken in the interim period, a student may be permitted to enter postgraduate studies at this stage.
